DIY Flower Crowns
It's the last day of winter and spring is here, so it's time to bring out those bright colors and sunglasses. I am incredibly excited for longer days with lots of sunlight and the new fashion season. Flower crowns are the spring's must have accessory and I have discovered that they will go perfectly with any outfit you have. Whether you wear it to a music festival, pool party, beach, or day out with the girls, it is sure to be a fun addition to your spring outfit.
Making one yourself allows you to be creative and have control over what you want it to look like. This is one of my favorite DIY's because it is so easy and original. If you can't find the perfect flower crown to match an outfit, then make it yourself with just 5 simple supplies. I highly recommend making one of these with some friends. They make for the best pictures and are definitely a Pinterest favorite.
Step 1: The Supplies
What you will need....
Floral Tape
Wired twine
Ribbon
Artificial Flowers
Hot glue gun
Step 2: The Process
First, make the base of the crown by cutting you wired twine and shaping it to the size of your head (make it bigger than you think). At the two ends, create a loop, and to secure it use floral tape.
Take your flowers off their stems. If they fall apart, glue the bottom on with hot glue. Try to get the entire stem off, so it is easier to glue and it won't hurt your head.
Next, place the flowers around the crown how you want it to look. Don't immediately start gluing, make sure it is placed how you want.
Glue down some of the smallest flowers first, and then your biggest. From there, fill in with the rest of your flowers. Add small ones in between big ones or whatever looks best to you.
Lastly, tie ribbon through the two loops at the ends of the crown, so it will stay on your head.
Have fun making your crown. I hope these steps help make it easy. Happy Spring!
